ALE SOSA
Ale Sosa is a Mexican-American artist based in Los Angeles whose background in architecture continues to influence his approach to composition, scale and form.
His work is rooted in photography and shaped by a strong sense of symmetry, structure and restraint. Working across black-and-white and color, Sosa draws from landscapes, architecture, wildlife and subjects encountered through extensive travel.
His work has been presented at exhibitions and art fairs including Art Miami, Hamptons Art Fair, Beverly Hills Art Show, and Spectrum / Red Dot Miami.

TO OBJECT
Photography is the beginning of the process.
Selected photographs are taken beyond the traditional print and developed into physical artworks through material, scale and hand-applied intervention.
Working across aluminum, glass and other surfaces, Ale builds upon the photographic image by sanding, painting and intervening directly on the material. Each process responds to the individual work rather than following a fixed formula.
The result is an object that exists somewhere between photography and physical artwork — retaining the image while introducing surface, texture and evidence of the artist's hand.
IMAGE
Every work begins with an original photograph.
The image establishes the composition, light, structure and subject that become the foundation of the finished piece.
MATERIAL
Selected images are transferred to physical surfaces including aluminum and glass. Scale, surface and material become part of how the photograph is experienced.
INTERVENTION
The surface is worked by hand. Depending on the individual piece, the process may incorporate sanding, paint, resin, gold leaf or other material interventions.
These interventions are not applied as a standardized formula. Each work develops individually from the photograph and material.
FINISHED WORK
The result exists somewhere between photograph and object — an image transformed through material, scale and the artist’s hand.
Original Works and Artist Proofs are individually developed physical pieces and remain distinct from Ale Sosa’s numbered Limited Edition photographs.
